Program Administrator (Program Administrator - University Programs)
The Education Department at USC Shoah Foundation works to bring testimony-based education programming, multimedia resources and digital tools to educators and students worldwide that support them in attaining curricular outcomes and promoting the capacity to counter hate in the world. As such, the Program Administrator (Program Administrator - University Programs) contributes to the execution of the Departmentâs content development strategy and professional development program for the college/university audience. We seek a candidate who is dedicated to ensuring that the Departmentâs testimony-based content and programming is innovative, compelling, accessible and high quality.
The Program Administrator (Program Administrator - University Programs) creates various types of educational content for college/university-level audiences, including online/offline modules, learning objects, guides and resources, and curated video clips among other types and formats. All content is grounded in 1.) audio-visual testimony from the Instituteâs Visual History Archive, 2.) research-based instructional practices, 3.) established guidelines and 4.) strategic priorities. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to create well-written, high quality content within an established publication workflow involving review, feedback, revision and publication. The Program Administrator (Program Administrator - University Programs) also will develop online/face to face professional development programs for college/university educators, including the creation of presentation materials, handouts, video clip curation, and implementation via online platforms and other related tasks appropriate for the college/university educator.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of subject-matter knowledge (e.g. education, Holocaust/genocide education, other related area), understanding of the field of higher education, understanding and skills in faculty development, deep understanding of the college/university context and nuances of working within such an environment and the ability to critically think through and prioritize tasks successfully. The Program Administrator (Program Administrator - University Programs) will create the content strategy for the target audience and ensure its successful implementation. The candidate will demonstrate an interest in working closely within a cross-functional team, demonstrate strong communication and facilitation skills and demonstrate sensitivity and good judgment. The Program Administrator (Program Administrator - University Programs) reports to the Program Manager â Content Development.
This position is funded on grant/contracts and or gift accounts.
Create testimony-based content for the college/university educator (formal/informal) in various formats and delivery methods
Work with the Program Manager â Content Development to ensure alignment to department strategic goals
Create well-written, appropriate and compelling content appropriate for target audience for use across the college/university curriculum, disciplines, programs (co-curricular/extra-curricular)
Apply research-based and established principles of learning and instruction at the college/university level, with attention to the needs of diverse students
Create content for online and offline use and thus be able to create content in various formats with quality, fidelity and high level of engagement per established guidelines
Contribute to the development of content in collaboration with the content development team and others.
Participate in the content review process by providing feedback and ensuring review workflow is adhered to per established guidelines
Create the content strategy for the college/university audience in consultation with the Head of Programs Content Development
Become knowledgeable about all content offerings on the Instituteâs digital platforms and across programs (e.g. content type, quantity, connection between content and program objectives, how content meets Department objectives)
Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of developments in the fields of education, Holocaust/genocide education, digital education and learning and instruction
Delivers professional development programs for educators and other related audiences
Develops all presentation materials for various types of programs and delivery methods, including online and face to face
Coordinates with the Content Manager to ensure alignment and adherence to standards
Consult with college and university decision-makers and educators to determine market needs and interests to inform content and professional development design and delivery methods.
Monitoring and Reporting
Submits monitoring forms before and after all professional development programs to ensure accurate counts for reporting purposes
Monitors program quality via established processes
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Knowledge, Characteristics and Skills
Background in education field (i.e. teaching and learning theories, pedagogy), curriculum development (e.g. lesson development, learning objects, activities, assessments), instructional design
Background in Holocaust/genocide education a plus
Ability to develop dynamic, engaging content for target audience grounded in research-based instructional practices
Ability to write content in an accessible way that resonates with target audience using multimedia source material including audiovisual testimony
Ability to use databases, identify content and curate source material
Experience editing educational content
Ability to follow structure and instructions to write templated lessons
Strong attention to detail
Experience with digital learning design
Understanding of educational pedagogy and learning theories
Ability to work closely within cross-functional teams
Sensitivity and good judgement
Ability to use multiple types of software and tools (e.g. Excel, One Drive, Outlook, Base Camp)
Interest and commitment to equity and justice issues
Bilingual competency a plus
Autonomous, self-directed and proactive
Exceptional organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and thrive in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment

PhD or combined education/experience equivalent
5 years combined work experience in each of the following areas:
Curriculum development (e.g. online/offline)
Instructional design and
Education, Teaching and learning (college/university; teaching)
Holocaust education/genocide education/diversity and inclusion
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated strong facilitation skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, MS Word, online learning platforms
