The Division of Student Life is looking to hire a Database & Communications Assistant to work in the M Store. This person will serve as the liaison between third party vendors and faculty as it relates to course material adoption. The position requires the candidate to be a proactive, problem-solver who has an eye for detail, is an expert in the use of Excel advanced features and has experience with general database software. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a welcoming environment for a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
Coordination of faculty adoptions for all academic terms ensuring accurate data such as ISBN, software, subscription, and required supplies are identified by the due date.
Compiling, validating, and identifying error of adoption data ensuring that the selected materials are listed correctly to appropriate course and section level and posted for student view of required ISBN.
Communication to faculty confirming, missing and incorrect adoption data, out of print, hard to find editions and out of program resources well in advance of term start dates and make recommended changes or procurement arrangements in coordination with the M-Store staff
Resolve issues related to course materials cases and inquiries
Ensure excellent customer service , based on Auxiliary Services Standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to retrieve and analyze data across multiple operating systems to create reports and identify discrepancies utilizing Excel, Salesforce, and other reporting systems
Detail orientation with effective analytical and problem solving abilities
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
Adapt quickly to changes
Knowledge of the course materials industry and digital course materials platform
