Position Description: Under the Senior Director of Alumni Career Engagement, the Director of Alumni Career Engagement will be responsible for the development and implementation of innovative and relevant professional development programs aimed at supporting the career needs of alumni at every stage of the career lifecycle. The Director will create and execute events, programs and initiatives that provide alumni with connection, engagement, education and resources as a means to serve Bruins at all career levels as part of their professional development. This individual will develop and expand relationships with existing and potential community and industry partners at all levels of interest to UCLA alumni and will be responsible for monitoring and responding to market trends that impact alumni career services. The Director will forge partnerships with regional, diversity, and affinity networks; track common first destinations and popular Bruin employers; and ensure that the resources of UCLA Alumni Affairs are communicated and shared. This individual will also oversee the career-oriented Alumni Networks: Bruin Professionals and Young Alumni Professionals. The Director will work with volunteer leaders to create community and support programming that enhances professional development opportunities for all members, including working with our UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors, Industry Cabinet members, and campus partners.
The Director will be responsible for career development programming generated from UCLA Alumni Affairs, like industry or life-stage programming and will develop and facilitate content for online training, digital channels, or in-person sessions. The Director will also oversee programs that are in line with UCLA's efforts in UC Hire or UC Alumni Network initiatives. This individual will create curricula for career development programs, and provide sporadic counseling or resume reviews. The Director will spearhead Alumni Career Engagement efforts around our digital media and community strategies such as through webinars to online videos to increase ways for UCLA alumni to learn and connect digitally through our digital platform, UCLAONE and other channels. In addition, the Director will supervise members of the Alumni Career Engagement team and will provide regular supervision, guidance, and assistance to see the successful completion and execution of alumni and student programs.
