The Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a full-time Clinical Research Project Coordinator to manage a Federally funded clinical trial related to alcohol use and suicide. The Clinical Research Project Coordinator will have a home-base on University of Michigan North Campus, and coordinate study efforts at various locations throughout Michigan.
Candidate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the project, including the development of study protocols, participant enrollment and follow-up, project budget and staff effort, training and managing research assistants and other project staff, tracking and managing project data, and drafting progress reports. The candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Co-Investigators, and other members of the research team.
Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field or equivalent in clinical research with at least 3 years of related experience. The candidate for this position must be able to: 1) work well independently; 2) work flexible hours to accommodate recruitment; 3) demonstrate a strong ability to establish rapport with individuals at all levels across multiple fields; and 4) demonstrate a strong ability to keep accurate and detailed project records. Candidate must have access to their own reliable transportation. This will be a full-time position located at University of Michigan and may require some evenings/weekends. Some travel may be required.
Preferred Master's degree or equivalent in clinical research with at least 5 years related experience. Preferred experience in clinical research with human subjects, with preference toward an applicant with experience conducting a randomized controlled trial, and managing regulatory protocols for work with human subjects. Prior experience with hiring and managing staff is preferred. Preferred proficiency with multiple levels of project management, including managing budgets, hiring and supervising personnel, managing work relationships, and developing and managing databases. Prior proficiency with clinical research in substance use/alcohol use and/or suicide/mental health preferred. Preferred proficiency in all aspects of data management and results reporting.
