IT Support Specialist, US and Canada (1904365) - Beachwood, OH
Where the Chemistry Happens
In this is a generalist IT support role, the IT support specialist is a member of and works in close collaboration with the America's Region IT team this resource will manage and oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure, ERP and non-ERP applications for the legal entity/site noted. This position will report to the Director, Information Technology, Americas Region.
Manage local IT and mobile providers. Perform local operational service management for global vendors and support local users in escalation processes.
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures in a local level in alignment with global policies and procedures
Manage annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness of IT processes
Provide local perspective to global IT projects and initiatives.
Gather and prioritize local demand and raise this to vendors or regional IT management as appropriate.
Ensure security and integrity of data, network access and backup systems
Manage the local IT equipment within the practice lifecycle (such as PC's)
Verify application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented
Oversee timeframes for IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, outages, and manages impact on local IT organization
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Management, Information Systems, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
5+ years of relevant Information Technology experience
3+ of relevant Management experience
Previous experience in vendor management
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation. Knowledge of ERP and business process management software.
Deep understanding of TCP, IP and other network protocols. Familiarity with DNS, DHCP and other network services
Knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO or NIST, Quality Management standards and best practices
Strong project planning skills and experience in project management
Proficient in oral and written local language(s) and English
