The Creative Projects Coordinator serves as the creative director for the Methodist Health System Foundation (Foundation), overseeing the production of all collateral .
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Coordinator serves as traffic manager, production specialist and designer, mail list coordinator, and print buyer for the Foundation.
Primary projects include informational, educational and promotional materials such as invitations, brochures, newsletters, one-sheets, binders, stationery, posters, presentations, specialty items, web graphics, videos, and ads.
Coordinates and schedules jobs with Foundation colleagues, Graphics department, PR/Marketing department, ad agencies and vendors.
Works with desktop publishing software to edit and create original layouts and artwork for printed and digital collateral materials in a creative and efficient manner in accordance with established Methodist graphics standards. Works closely with colleagues to provide updates on job status and production schedules.
Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
Supports the production of the Folsom Event, including overseeing the creative, design, theme, production, and printing of all materials.
Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) in appropriate discipline is preferred
Licenses and/or Certifications (Preferred)
Work Experience: 3-5 years or more

Ability to work late or come in early occasionally to produce materials needed on larger/ special projects and events.

Experience with the following software: Quark Express, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, font management and printing processes/requirements.
Familiar with both Mac and PC.
Flexibility to multi-task on last-minute rush projects while still maintaining production schedule for regular projects.
Individual should be quality conscious, self-motivated, deadline-oriented, reliable and a team player.
Knowledge of pre-press production and printing.
Must be creative and organized, with extreme attention to detail.
Responsible for keeping current in their level of education of software techniques and skills.
Maintain and update project repository within public folder (by department) ensuring files are cataloged as a .pdf, .tif or equivalent type file that can be viewed by a layman.
Serve as primary print and specialty item buyer, working closely with in-house Graphics and vendors to obtain bids and oversee quality assurance. Ensure good stewardship of hospital funds by suggesting economical alternatives. Maintain existing vendor relationships and build new vendor relationships as appropriate including minority vendors.
Supervise and monitor scheduling and job production through the department and work closely with clients through regular communication to ensure proper results are attained in time frame that is needed. This includes coordination of print production, vendor pickups, deliveries, client approvals, proofreader and press checks.
Work closely with Foundation colleagues, PR/Marketing, and vendors in planning of design production, job specifications, and job scheduling.
Works with desktop publishing software to edit and create original layouts and artwork for printed, Web, and collateral materials in a creative and efficient manner in accordance with established graphic standards.
Provide production, editing, and job pre-flighting using desktop publishing programs including Macintosh Quark Xpress, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop. Coordinate production for advertising and printed collateral including design layout, art, pre-flighting job, photography, scanning, file retrieval, typesetting and corrections.
