Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor - Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
TheDepartmentofIndustrialandManufacturingSystemsEngineering(IMSE)atIowaStateUniversity invites applications for a faculty position as an Assistant, Associate or Full Teaching Professor in the area of manufacturing or systems engineering. The focus areas is on smart connected manufacturing at the interstation of digital manufacturing, system engineering, automation, sensing, analytics, and cloud computing. Candidates will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses and provide service to the department, college, and university.
This position is a 9-month appointment with a 1-3 year term and potential for renewal.Â Position is eligible for either full time or part time basis. Term Faculty hold limited term, full, or part-time renewable appointments that are not eligible for tenure, but have potential to be reviewed for advancement into senior ranks.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Teaching Professor
Bachelors degree in engineering/related discipline AND a Masters degree in engineering/related discipline AND 5 years of relevant work experience. OR
Bachelors degree in engineering/related discipline AND a Doctoral degree in engineering/related discipline.
Associate Teaching Professor
5 years of undergraduate teaching with a record of excellence. AND either:
Bachelors degree in engineering/related discipline AND a Masters degree in engineering/related discipline AND 8 years of relevant work experience. OR
Bachelors degree in engineering/related discipline AND a Doctoral degree in engineering/related discipline AND 5 years of relevant work experience.
11 years of undergraduate teaching with a record of excellence. AND either:
Bachelors degree in engineering/related discipline AND a Masters degree in engineering/related discipline AND 13 years of relevant work experience. OR
Bachelors degree in engineering/related discipline AND a Doctoral degree in engineering/related discipline AND 10 years of relevant work experience.
Practical experience in smart connected manufacturing and/or system engineering.
Candidatesat the level ofAssistant Teaching Professor, must demonstrate ability orpotential for excellence in teaching in the areaofmanufacturing.

Department/Program & College Description:
The IMSE department has over 27,000 square feet of centrally located space. It has invested over $3M in manufacturing labs in the last eight years. Manufacturing researchers in IMSE are actively participating in three institutes established by National Network for Manufacturing Innovation. The department has collaborations in all of these areas across the Engineering College and University. The ISU College of Engineering comprises eight departments with 300+ tenure/tenure-track faculty members and annual research expenditures exceeding $99 million.
