Under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Research, lead administrative coordination for efforts of faculty in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, in the development of research, training and outreach grant proposals to federal and state government agencies, corporate and foundation entities, with an emphasis on large-scale proposals in core and/or interdisciplinary areas, including artificial intelligence, security, digital health, online communities, etc. The Grant Writer will manage the proposal development process in collaboration and coordination with faculty and staff to conceptualize proposals, draft proposal outlines, and generate high-quality text that is responsive to agency requirements; research and coordinate proposal management; prepare and submit proposals; coordinate large projects involving multiple faculty and staff; generate major research proposals or training grants, and identify and communicate new research opportunities. Will also serve a strategic role in providing faculty with professional development in the skills necessary to create successful proposals.
