Job Summary/Basic Function: This position is primarily responsible for handling routine, ad-hoc reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. The HRIS Analyst will be responsible for data integration, data mining and conducting various analyses of data to identify and implement process improvements using built-in reporting tools and running SQL queries as well as produce analytic reporting.
The incumbent will have knowledge of current trends in HRMS and analyze existing HR data management processes by working with complex datasets to investigate key trends, performance, and issues related to HR data and provide recommendations on system-based automation.
Provide project management support for assigned projects and tasks to ensure successful completion.
Assist with process improvements providing innovative solutions through suggested policy and process changes and/or major variations from established policy.
Automate, standardize, schedule and publish key reports and analysis to help disseminate data and insights in a controlled environment
Compliance Reporting and Writing:
Develop reports to support the HR department and data requests from internal clients, including building visualizations to communicate data and metrics, data maps, dashboards (Argos), etc.
Responsible for satisfying all routine and compliance reporting (IPEDS, VETS 100, AAP).
Manage key reporting initiatives and analytics projects required by HR leadership by compiling statistical or data trend reports
Other ad-hoc reporting as needed to support the team
Assist in reviewing, testing and implementing HRMS system upgrades or patches.
Assist with maintaining data integrity such as running payroll audits through queries and analysis.
Audit and reconcile data inconsistencies
Additional QA functions as assigned
Assist in developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation.
Train clients on new processes/functionality.

Bachelor’s degree with or the equivalent of least 3+ years of applicable experience HRIS experience
Expertise in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's)
Strong analytical skills
Experience with data analysis, modeling, design and documentation
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments/projects and timelines
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data and findings to a non-technical audience
Experience with designing and developing HR-related queries and reports
Understanding of HRMS system tables, documents and processes
Ability to understand complexities and nuances with reporting using different data sources and sharing the reports with different security groups
Experience with Banner HR
Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
Proficient in SQL
Experience in the use of databases such as MS Access
Experience working in a higher education environment
