Blended Learning Circle Facilitator
We are in search of a passionate academic professional to serve as the Blended Learning Circle Facilitator (BLCF). Working closely with the ESL for Families & Parent Engagement Manager, the BLCF will facilitate an exciting new program that supports student retention and connection to the Carlos Rosario School when they cannot continue to participate in mainstream classes due to work or life schedules. They will support students’ diverse educational backgrounds, learning styles, and digital and English language abilities by providing excellent facilitation of blended learning classes that meet once a week in person; support students with online instruction and applications; and serve as a coach for students to support them in learning English outside of the classroom. The BLCF will be responsible for designing a class syllabus, creating activity plans for weekly learning circles, developing materials for students to use in class and online, and supporting students in acquiring the skills needed to utilize online language learning tools.
Support students in developing plans to reach their language/education goals and stay connected to the school when they cannot attend regular classes.
Assist students in learning by creating accounts and determining how to use online language apps for language development.
Plan and provide structure and activities for speaking practice as well as digital familiarity with programming in the classroom one day a week for each student group (e.g. AM, EVE, Saturday).
Provide virtual office hours for each class and connect with students virtually via text, phone or other communication tools to encourage the use of language apps and to troubleshoot access problems. Occasional in-person additional support may also be required.
Facilitate student communication via email and text to support the blended learning style of the program.
Perform administrative tasks that extend beyond the time spent teaching in the classroom, to include, tracking forms, daily attendance, student scores, and timecards
Engage with multiple forms of data, both formal and informal, to help students advance in their language and digital skills.
May administer a variety of evaluative tools, which may include online testing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience or the appropriate combination of education and experience.
Must have strong technical experience with language learning apps and programs for English language development
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in both ESL preparation and Adult Education preferred
Must be flexible and able to make adaptations to meet the academic needs of students with different learning skills and challenges
Excellent communication skills, be able to explain concepts to others effectively
Excellent organizational skills and timely completion of tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and website navigation
Fluently speak, read and write in English
Bilingual proficiency English / Spanish preferred
Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds

Wednesday: 8:30am - 12:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 12:30pm
Evening class day: TBD
