The CTD Summer Program provides a unique, rigorous, and fun academic summer camp for students in grades 4-12 on Northwestern’s beautiful Evanston campus. The Summer Program Coordinator Assistant works on the administrative side of student support, and works with their collaborative team to create an unparalled experience for students and families from around the country and across the globe.
The Summer Program Coordinator Assistant (SPCA) provides administrative support to the Summer Program Coordinator (SPC) and CTD administrative staff. Tasks include but are not limited to staffing the Summer Program Coordinator office; word processing; data collection and entry; hiring and onboarding paperwork management; staff, student, and family communication; managing student airport arrival and departure; and other clerical and administrative tasks. The SPCA works full time Monday through Friday; additional hours are required. Full-time work available April through August, 2020. Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; additional hours and days required for Opening Days, which are Sundays, and Closing Days, which are Fridays. Salary: $17 per hour.
Learn and implement CTD and Northwestern Policies and Procedures.
Uphold and promote the CTD Honor Code.
Follow all CTD rules and regulations concerning staff conduct, appropriate dress, program procedures, and other responsibilities as set forth in the staff handbook and by administrative staff.
Assume program-related responsibilities as requested by CTD administrative staff.
Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children, families, and staff, as well as conversations that take place in CTD and Northwestern offices.
Process and track all staff hiring paperwork; work with the NU Temp Center in ongoing way.
Assist with preparations for the program and distribution of program materials as needed.
Collect and schedule student airport arrival information, communicate with families, and work with Residential Directors and Program Coordinators to develop an efficient procedure and staffing assignments for handling student airport arrival and departures.
Manage daily communications regarding meetings and notifications regarding student, staff, scheduling, and operational/facilities issues to SPC.
Maintain accurate financial records.
Supervise Office Assistants on as-needed basis in collaboration with other Program Assistant staff.
Perform all clerical tasks as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Office and project management experience required.
Applicants must possess superior organizational, communication, and customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and be a creative problem-solver.
Must be flexible and have a positive disposition while working in a fast-paced environment.
Computer proficiency required.
Must be able to lift 40+ pounds, be able to traverse distances of at least one mile with or without accommodation, and have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
