The Designer and Web Content Manager is instrumental and a key player in the success of graphic design and website projects at the Jacobs School of Music.
Responsible for the following duties and more as assigned:
Creates designs (electronic, web, and print) and enforces the Jacobs School and Indiana University brand assets and standards.
Serves as the visual art creator and designer for major projects from conception through production. Researches, strategizes, conceptualizes, proposes, and designs creative projects for digital, print, web, and interactive media (large wall graphics, posters, emails, social media graphics, recruiting materials, signage) and also develops templates for posters, emails, and other marketing and communication collateral.
Collaborates with offices and departments across the school, university, and outside entities.
Assists with website design updates and copy changes in the WCMS (CascadeServer) and Laravel php framework.
Serves as web content manager, updating content on the Jacobs website, supporting and providing website assistance to offices and departments across the school, and when needed, support faculty and staff on the use of the Website Content Management System (WCMS), and the Indiana University web framework.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field and two years of related experience.
Experience building and updating websites. Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In-Design) photography, videography, technology, and website management. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information using a variety of mediums (email, phone, in-person) with a wide diversity of individuals. Organizational and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Time management skills including the ability to multitask, manage a range of priorities, and meet deadlines in a busy environment. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Three years of professional in-house or agency experience in graphic design for both print and digital media. Project management experience. Experience in art direction. Experience training others. Ability to be creative and resourceful with a professional demeanor. Familiarity with music (opera, classical, jazz, and more) and ballet. Experience building and updating websites within the university's framework.
