The Supervisor of IT Classroom & Lab Management is responsible for managing a team of System Administrators that are responsible for developing, configuring and deploying lab environments across all campus Academic environments. This position also oversees a team that provides technician level support for all IT related equipment occurring in presentation spaces. This position will actively establish standards and set expectations that will support the college's missions and goals. This position will ensure that the entire team delivers a positive user experience in all Academic Spaces as it relates to academic technology used by the college. This role will also support physical and virtual environments hosted both internally and externally on multiple platforms that would include: Mac OS, IOS, Chrome OS, Windows OS and Linux. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the support of classrooms, events and IT equipment refresh efforts including the support of control systems, data projectors, signal processors and related technology.This position will also provide strategic vision as it pertains to instructional delivery and support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assigns and delegates tasks, provides direction, resolves issues and eliminates barriers, communicates job expectations, trains project staff and develops professional growth opportunities. Carries out, explains, interprets and enforces department and institutional policies.
Conducts annual employee evaluations, and recommends pay increases, promotions and other personnel actions. Approves leaves and authorizes work schedule alterations as appropriate. Participates in employee selection process. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval, and in collaboration with Human Resources.
Coordinates distribution of lab support service, configuration and design. Ensures that computer labs are in working order prior to, and after use by faculty, staff, and students. Provides assistance to faculty and staff in determining software needs for lab instruction.
Supervises the on-going preventative maintenance of classrooms and labs to ensure full functionality of IT equipment for students and faculty. Supports campus events through the deployment of audio visual technology (PA systems, portable video systems, and other presentation technology). Manages work order efficiency and quality. Oversees the maintaining of supplies under their area of supervision.
Provides leadership and guidance to improve the impact of lab performance and effectiveness for the College. Plans, coordinates, sets-up, and operates special events occurring in computer labs.
Advises the College regarding lab management trends and upgrades to lab hardware. Investigates new and emerging software development solutions. Leads the instructional support of cloud solutions and innovation. Works with faculty to identify needs and makes recommendations on solutions to computing requirements.
Usual Physical Requirements:
The employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer, frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee occasionally reaches with hands or arms and stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Vision demands include close, detailed vision when focusing on computer screen. Employee pushes large carts, lifts equipment from shelves, and carries equipment from building to building by hand weighing up to 50 pounds. Employee regularly uses close vision at 20 inches or less when working on equipment, reading complex parts and instruction, and seeing proper color for video/RGB presentations.
Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices. Working environment has occasional exposure to dirt, dust and outdoor weather conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Standard supervisory principles and practices; Multiple OS environments; supporting and deploying OS solutions to computer lab environments across a Higher Education environment.

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field and/or four (4) years of experience working in a lead system administration role. An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
