Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, review and post students' academic information in electronic files in Banner (Appalachian's student information system).
Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Process undergraduate major declarations.
Respond to student, faculty, staff, and general public questions relative to academic records, policy and procedure under FERPA guidelines.
Provide administrative support for Academic Advising and Orientation as needed including but not limited to updating intended major changes, responding to student email inquiries, adding student records notes to DegreeWorks, coordinating logistics for orientation, and payroll management.
Other administrative duties will include room reservations, campus work orders, external vendor contracts, and purchasing.
Some post-secondary education plus 3-5 years administrative experience.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities in a helpful, congenial and professional manner.
Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated experience in detailed and accurate record keeping.
Demonstrated experience using administrative software (specifically Google Office or Microsoft).
Demonstrated use of University student information systems.
