Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is a mid-size Chicago Loop law firm seeking an Integration Engineer. The Integration Engineer works as part of a team of experts in the support and administration of the application systems at the Firm. This role maintains responsibility for providing technical project leadership and sound analysis to ensure that the right solution is matched to the business need. This role has specific administrative and technical responsibility over Firm wide database technologies, finance systems, BI functions, data integrations, and enterprise workflow. As this position maintains a number of important business systems, on call and after hours availability is necessary to perform this role.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):
Manage assigned systems. This includes participation in product and technology concept roadmap, critical application technology decisions, and development efforts and projects.
Provide expertise and technical ownership of all Intapp product lines including Intake, Time, Walls, and Integrate.
Develop, document, implement and manage data warehouse and the data flows between to various systems.
Lead all efforts in designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining data synchronizations between systems, utilizing database, API cloud, or any method necessary.
Provide Database Administrator oriented administration and support all SQL databases and servers, SSIS packages, SRS reports, and integrations. This includes data base maintenance plans and backups.
Ensure all SQL based instances are properly patched and maintained.
Provide migration services for any database systems to update SQL and operating environments.
Provide administration and support of the Firm’s accounting and finance systems (Elite, TimeKM, Web View etc.). This includes applying the patches and scripts received from the vendors as well as working with the Accounting Department on resolving all IT related issues.
Collaborate with Management, Systems, and Helpdesk teams on projects and efforts that require multiple pools of expertise or participation.
Provide T-SQL expertise in creating reports, scripts and other data reporting assistance or modification as needed.
Trouble-shoot end-user problems with SQL based applications. Provide detailed information and documentation to the Help Desk resolve re-assigned tickets.
Support users on specialized software products for use in various Firm administrative and practice groups.
Manage 3rd party consultants and/or vendors, ensuring proper knowledge transfer, documentation, and project efforts are completed in the appropriate manner.
Provide excellent second/third level support with all assigned Firm applications.
Document procedures, processes, and disaster recovery plans. Crosstrain additional team members as back-ups. This includes creating application diagrams and administrative troubleshooting steps appropriate for all levels of support.
Document, test and configure applications and associated integrations.
Learn other Firm application technologies to help support team members while they are out of the office.
Participate in or assist with the creation and execution of end user training/documentation.
Work on special projects as assigned by Application Development Manager or Director of IT.
Bachelors in a relevant IT discipline or equivalent work experience is required.
5+ years’ of high-level technical experience as a DBA or system administrator managing multiple systems using Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 etc.
Certification on database administration such as MCSA or MCSE or equivalent experience is preferred.
Intapp products experience strongly preferred especially Integration Builder.
Experience with building and using workflow tools including understanding building and working with multiple APIs.
Experience with BI development strongly preferred.
Experience working in Legal or Financial services industry preferred.
Knowledge T-SQL, XSLT, XML and/or PowerShell scripting is required.
Strong understanding of SSIS packages.
Knowledge of or familiarity with .net related programming languages a plus.
Excellent people skills including interacting with software users.
Strong project leadership is necessary, and project management expertise is desirable.
Excel both as a team player and in independent activities.
In depth knowledge of accounting software and procedures.
Ability to express ideas clearly in both oral and written communication.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
Available 35 or more hours per week, variable (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday), plus emergency on-call as needed.
