We are seeking a Technology Para-educator to assist, support and enhance an effective learning environment and student achievement by working with students in small groups and individuals inside and outside of the classroom. Additionally, the Paraeducator provides the teacher with qualitative data and insight that helps the teacher tailor instruction to support each student’s unique challenges and at times, leads class activities at the teacher’s request.
Leads small group activities and provides whole class instruction when needed
Provide the teacher with qualitative data.
Develops an understanding of individual student needs/challenges in the digital literacies.
Explain basic Microsoft Office Suite concepts accurately.
Assist teachers with developing effective learning plans to address students’ needs and strengths; motivate students and build their confidence and persistence.
Assess students’ digital literacy progress throughout the class sessions
Prepare presentations, handouts, and activities as needed.
Participate in Paraeducator training and professional development sessions
Provide administrative duties as requested by the teacher (bulletin board creation, collecting or passing out papers, making photocopies when necessary)
High School diploma with a minimum of one (1) year of tutoring or Paraeducator experience or the appropriate combination of education and experience.
Demonstrates self-motivation, continual learning, and ability to take initiative.
Practice professional and effective interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and with others in a team approach.
Strong foundational technology skills and/or a demonstrated commitment to a career in technology
Completion of Carlos Rosario Technology Foundational and/or Technology IT Pathway classes preferred.
Ability to tutor others in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to balance multiple tasks and establish task priority.
Speak and write English to near fluency.
Bilingual (Spanish/English or Amharic/English) a plus.
Support the school’s mission and comfortably works with people from diverse backgrounds.
