Performs difficult professional work related to the design, construction, and coordination of County water and sewer projects; performed under general supervision; may supervise subordinate technical and/or clerical personnel.
Providing design review/oversight/direction, bidding coordination, and construction project management of professional service firms and contractors for various water/sewer projects to include but not limited to reviewing engineering and construction documents, plans, and cost estimates; inspecting and monitoring construction projects; effective communication; preparing requests for proposals (RFP), bid documents, contracts, purchase orders and preparing and maintaining records and files.
Thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of civil engineering as related to water and sewer infrastructure design and construction/maintenance, and management of water and sewer projects; knowledge of land evaluation; knowledge of construction management and inspection procedures; ability to prepare and understand technical reports, presentations, plans, and specification.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Civic Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; experience with water and sewer infrastructure engineering design and related construction and project management of water and sewer projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT designation preferred.
