The Golisano Institute for Sustainability is an applied research organization at RIT whose mission is to undertake world-class education and research programs in sustainability with major foci on sustainable production, sustainable energy, sustainable mobility and ecologically friendly information technology systems. Detailed Job Description
As a core member of the GIS team, this person will manage operational aspects of research programs within GIS, including, but not limited to, the Center of Excellence in Advanced and Sustainable Manufacturing. Also will provide research administration support to the broader GIS organization, as needed.
Contribute to and manage development of annual COE-ASM workplan, contribute to strategic planning, and report to program director on overall program progress as compared to the workplan deliverables
Responsible for program internal budget tracking in collaboration with GIS Associate Director of Finance and Administration
Write scopes of work and initiate POs for vendors, consultants, and partners
Responsible for proposal & contract content review and ensuring GIS staff is aware of all contractual requirements
Coordinate, plan with the program director, and participate in COE-ASM Advisory Board meetings
Marketing - Develop annual COE-ASM marketing plan with the marketing program coordinator and ensure deliverables are met
Support the Industry 4.0 Transition Assistance Program, including working with the program manager to develop the workplan, outreach materials and marketing strategy, review project SOWs, coordinate training, and track program progress
Responsible for contributing to new offerings and growth of programs at GIS; Develop exciting initiatives, new ideas and innovative programs
Reviews GIS resource capacity against current, pending and future needs and assists with resource planning
Seek additional funding sources for GIS, lead and write proposal submissions to secure funding
Responsible for Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) reporting and procurement procedures; staff utilization plan and other documents as required
Ensure required reports are completed and submitted for all sponsored research projects, contribute to and review progress reports to sponsors
Provide research administration support to the broader GIS organization
Required Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's of Science degree in a business related field and a minimum of 8 years in a business administration or research administration position.
Very strong writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills required
Strategic thinking and creative problem solving skills
Must be highly organized, with strong attention to detail
Committed to top-quality, highly professional output
Highly self-motivated; ability to work independently
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, and handle multiple tasks

Professional demeanor; comfortable with direct communications with executive level collaborators
5-7 years of directly related experience with state and federal sponsored research preferred
