| The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University invites applications for a lecturer position in both traditional small animal primary care medicine and exotic companion animal medicine. Applicants must have a DVM degree (or equivalent). Preference will be given to applicants with experience in exotic companion animal practice and to those who have obtained American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) certification in any of the following areas: Avian, Exotic Companion Mammal, and/or Reptile and Amphibian practice. Diplomates of the American College of Zoological Medicine are also welcome to apply. Applicants must be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Texas. The Primary Care Service is staffed with a team of five clinicians and four technicians. The Primary Care Service utilizes general VMTH resources including digital radiography suites equipped with PACS image storage, eFilm and OrthoviewVet templating software; and a 40 slice CT, 3T MRI, and helical tomotherapy unit onsite. The hospital maintains Mimics and Echopixel licenses for three-dimensional reconstruction, with easy access to 3D printers. The VMTH also has utilized the following items for the diagnosis and treatment of exotic companion animal disorders, including: a Storz endoscopy tower with rigid endoscopes, Abaxis vetscan vs2 analyzer, 8 general incubators, and 1 incubator with oxygen capabilities for exotic companion animal species. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with over 50 faculty members in the small animal hospital, and 35 interns and residents from both medical and surgical services in the department.
