Drew University seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computer Science in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science beginning August 2020, pending budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will teach both core and elective courses in our computer science program, and work closely with our undergraduate students. We seek candidates who have demonstrated potential or excellence in teaching, breadth in the discipline that complements the computer science program’s existing strengths, and dedication to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts context. The successful candidate will balance teaching, research, and student mentoring, as well as share responsibility for committee and department service assignments. We seek candidates eager to teach introductory courses in addition to more advanced ones in their area of expertise with an interest in and ability to mentor individual and team based student research. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop new offerings across disciplines and within computer science.
Requirements: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related discipline by August 1, 2020, and a willingness to teach introductory, core, and upper-level computer science classes at the undergraduate level.

About the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science:
This is an exciting time of expansion in Mathematics and Computer Science. Within the past five years we have hired three new faculty in statistics and data science, created new minors in statistics and data science, and created a new Master’s program in data analytics. We are currently working on proposals for new majors in statistics, business analytics, and cybersecurity, while also revising our mathematics major to reflect these new strengths.
