The George Mason University, Executive and Professional Education, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a Project Assistant. This position serves as the Project Assistant for all open-enrollment and contract programs offered through Executive and Professional Education. This position reports to the Project Manager for the Enrollment Team. Responsibilities include delivering quality customer service to students and potential students by answering phone and email inquiries, tabulating and distributing evaluation summaries, preparing course packets, monitoring student participation in online components of course requirements, copying and filing for the office, coordination of student parking and special events, and other duties as assigned.
Applicants must have exemplary communication and customer service skills, ability to multitask, advanced use of computer applications (Microsoft Office) and registration software, student service knowledge and skills, and prior knowledge of continuing education is desirable.
Ability to expertly organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy;
Excellent organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work independently, but also thrive in a team environment;
Ability to focus on formalizing and implementing a detailed administrative work flow process.
Experience in higher education setting, with a strong knowledge of course lifecycle and fiscal processes;
Associate's degree, or equivalent education and experience in customer service and administrative support;
General office experience, specifically dealing with customer/client service and student related issues;
Experience in providing administrative support to complex projects with several contributing factors/influences;
Advanced computer skills required, with a particular emphasis on Access, Microsoft Office, and registration database experience preferred;
Excellent organizational skills;
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
Excellent Interpersonal skills;
Experience in a higher education setting preferred;
Experience in dealing with varying levels of customer demands.
Salary: $15 per hour
