Leads diverse project teams consisting of fundraisers, writers, proofreaders, designers, production managers, multimedia producers, and/or external creative consultants in the execution of tactics. Builds schedules, runs meetings, communicates deadlines, and maintains budgets.
Works with communications management in developing and executing communications strategies, tactics, and plans for internal stakeholders within FAS Development. May assist other units as requested by his or her supervisor.
Occasionally, may write digital and print copy for FAS Development pieces, including, but not limited to, website content, event invitations, and brochure copy.
Ensures that managed projects deliver on time, on budget, and without errors.
Attends meetings of communications staff. Represents communications team in meetings with internal partners as needed.
May manage cross-departmental projects that that will assist the department in realizing its mission.

Bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of 5 years of experience working with project teams, designers, and clients.
This position requires a team player with an ability to function effectively in the highly complex organizational environment of Harvard University. Must be highly organized, collaborative, creative, and deadline oriented.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure, understand and implement complex policies and procedures, and accommodate feedback from editors, supervisors, and clients.
Must be able to influence without direct authority, coordinate project teams, and manage up to partners and colleagues at varying levels within the organization.
Candidates should have some familiarity with the world of philanthropy and fundraising. Experience working in higher education or nonprofit communications or fundraising strongly desired.
Must be able to complete assignments working independently and with a minimum amount of supervision while keeping his or her supervisor fully informed of all project developments.
Must be willing to work extra hours during peak periods, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Graduate of accredited four-year college with a degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or the liberal arts preferred.
Must have excellent computer skills. Knowledge of project management software, content management systems, and email marketing tools highly desired. Willingness and ability to learn these programs required.
Demonstrated knowledge of using the web, digital tools, and social media for communications purposes is essential.
