The Harvard T.H. This is a 6-month opportunity to contribute your skills to and gain experience with events run by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health's Office for External Relations (OER) while covering the leave of a team member. The position, Manager for Events and Regional Engagement, reports to the Director of Events and Regional Engagement.
Event management work will include:
Creating and managing event planning timelines
Leading stakeholder meetings
Developing planning meeting agendas and distributing meeting notes
Researching and negotiating contracts with vendors
Identifying and securing venues
Developing staffing plans and managing OER support staff onsite during events
Communicating with Harvard Chan donors, prospects, event guests, speakers, and Harvard colleagues via phone and email
Collaborating with communications, research, IS, and donor relations teams to coordinate event needs
Managing events on-site
Other duties as assigned
Event support work will include:
Actively participating in event planning meetings
Working directly with internal and external stakeholders to achieve event goals
Coordinating with high level VIP speakers and special guests; drafting briefings
Working with frontline fundraisers to create and report strategic seating plans
Building online RSVP forms; producing event materials; and staffing events
Tracking RSVP scheduling meetings
Other duties as assigned
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 6-month term position.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a benefits-eligible position with a 40 hour work week. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
3+ years of related experience required
Experience with project management and/or history of managing complex events with varied constituents preferred
Experience working in development preferred
Experience working with data and data management, preferably with donor databases and experience with Advance Donor System are pluses
Experience providing rapid response to high-level requests and/or donor and senior leadership needs preferred
Microsoft Excel experience and experience managing and interpreting large amounts of data preferred
Advanced writing skills preferred
