The Textbook Floor Supervisor is responsible for general management and day-to-day operations of the textbook floor specializing in selling, distribution, personnel management, information systems, and service related activities.
The position supervises full-time staff and student support staff on the Textbook Floor. The position reports directly to the Assistant Director.
Responsibilities 40% • Supervise, hire, train and schedule textbook floor staff. • Plan, organize and execute seasonal operations including book buyback, rental returns, and back-to-school rush. • Oversee organization and shelving of incoming textbooks each semester. • Help coordinate Inclusive Access course materials program and delivery model. 40% • Coordinate textbook returns to publishers each semester. • Maintain relationships with faculty and collegiate departments and support course material adoption. • Assist in the management of rental books and digital course packets including managing emails to and from customers. • Attend to customer needs and fulfill customer special orders. 20% • Promote the Student Development Outcome Program and ensure staff is meeting set goals. • Aid in online order fulfillment as needed. • Open and close the Bookstore as assigned each day.
Essential Functions of the Position • Train staff in customer service and product knowledge. • Plan and organize operations in the textbook area. • Foster and maintain relationships with staff and departments. • Maintain cash handling and online payment procedures. • Manage and oversee physical inventory in textbook area.
Salary: $17.79 per hour
Minimum Qualifications • BA/BS plus at least 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Ability to communicate effectively. • Ability to provide excellent customer service. • Knowledge of retail sales and handling merchandise. • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. • Excellent administrative and leadership skills. • Ability to communicate effectively. • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. • Ability to stand 8 hours per day.
