This is an exciting position providing the opportunity to work in a successful alumni and development operation that works collaboratively to find creative ways to engage alumni from a very specialized graduate program. We are seeking a creative and well-organized self-starter to join our small team that serves an active and engaged alumni base.
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, this individual is responsible for a broad range of duties, including programmatic responsibilities such as managing and further developing a program to engage alumni of the last 10 years, and administrative responsibilities such as managing a database of all alumni, formatting and disseminating the monthly electronic newsletter. The successful candidate for this role will work well on tight deadlines, collaborate with colleagues from across the School and within the University's alumni and development community, will be strong on project planning and management, and will demonstrate a facility with technology, discretion, sensitivity, and relating well to others.
Working with the director of Alumni Relations, plans alumni and development events including, but not limited to, Alumni Weekend, our biggest event of the year. Working with the director of Alumni Relations, takes the lead role in the young alumni leadership team and will manage their effort to engage alumni of the last 10 years as volunteers and as donors.
Provides administrative support and project management to the director of alumni relations, especially as it relates to preparing materials for Alumni Board meetings and for the selection of winners for Alumni Awards.
Occupies the lead role in a variety of data collection systems for Alumni Relations that are used to maintain biographical and contact information on alumni, and to send out mass emails, invitations and other notices. Will also manage our Alumni Weekend registration through Cvent.
Acts as a resource and primary contact to alumni in a number of functions including, but not limited to, answering incoming calls and emails and connecting them with the proper person at the School.
Travels a few times a year to host alumni receptions in a variety of cities across the nation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required
Experience: 3 years' related experience
Other Skills: Knowledge of Google Docs and Microsoft Office, primarily MS Word and Excel programs. Knowledge of Cvent and Marketing Cloud a plus. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills, as well as discretion and good interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team, in a high-volume environment juggling multiple responsibilities. Some evening and weekend work and travel required.
