The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Project Manager, Design. They will be reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor Planning, Design and Real Estate, the Project Manager/Interior Designer will act primarily in an Interior Designer capacity as it pertains to design projects on an urban, University campus.
As such, the Project Manager/Interior Designer is responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of interior furniture finishes and equipment, design projects of a limited scope, providing expertise as it pertains to determining architectural design, purpose and function, and aesthetics for various environments across the University's campus, ensuring alignment with established design standards.
For all design projects, the Project Manager determines user needs, defines the scope of professional services, manages the development of construction drawings and specifications, and manages other projects through construction, as assigned by the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Project Management. Primary Role: Interior Design-Review of all projects. Secondary Role: Project Management of some smaller projects requiring updates to furniture and finishes.
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited University is required. Four to six years of experience in interior design and/or architectural design is required.
Interior and/or architectural design experience in a higher education/campus environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment is required.
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and design standards is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
