The Senior Systems Analyst leads the Enterprise Solutions team, comprised of application development and enterprise architecture groups. The position works with IT leadership, school stakeholders and staff to establish the direction, processes and priorities, and leads the team to deliver integrated, effective enterprise solutions for the school. The position will focus the team to optimize school-wide applications and data resources, integrating systems, applications and data to support related functions and service to meet school strategic and operational goals.
Lead contact with law school community clients and representatives to discuss and assess projects and needs.
Lead enterprise solutions staff, end users and peers to document and analyze functional requirements, identify gaps and alternative approaches to meet requirements, and ensure all deliverables completed according to agreed-upon requirements. Often convenes and facilitates working groups in this capacity.
Develop roadmaps and oversee implementation of integration and service improvements across school data, applications and digital services.
Provides recommendations for strategic planning and system growth/future business needs.
Manage team project portfolio, overseeing prioritization, scheduling and management of projects, tasks and related responsibilities to meet departmental, customer and school objectives.
Represents organizational area in regard to advisory groups, planning committees, and similar standing work groups whose purpose is to develop requirements related to the implementation of enterprise business systems.
Coordinates project resources to ensure that tasks are completed on schedule and that issues, risks and variances are identified and escalated in a timely manner.
Oversees project management for vendor-based solutions as needed.
Facilitates iterative feedback processes among users, developers, and analysts to ensure software functionality aligns with requirements. Influences decision making based on prior implementation experience.
Collects feedback from users on project deliverables and process, and other metrics to optimize the customer experience and satisfaction with outcomes.
Leads and directs team on process and project documentation, and monitors progress toward project and team goals, providing guidance and direction to manage team effort to reach goals across team activities.
Supervises and manages Enterprise Solutions staff, including staff hires/terminations. Participates in recruiting process, and job description creation.
Coaches and mentors staff.
Oversees project and portfolio management activities performed by staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
4 years functional/business/system analysis or other relevant experience required.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Agile development processes.
Web application development and service platforms.
Web development tools, processes and workflow.
Enterprise data organization, including normalized relational database systems.
Cloud service integration via APIs and web services.
SOA / web service creation and management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a team in application development, business or systems analysis and development, or related field.
Master’s degree in computer science, digital technologies or related field, or comparable experience.
Experience delivering IT services in a higher education institution.
Record of managing a team to plan and deliver high-impact digital applications and services on time.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Ability to engage in new technologies, platforms and tools to fully assess and optimize implementation.
Ability to produce and deliver clear, thorough and convincing presentations and documentation of research, proposals, project plans and assessments.
Working knowledge of multiple web development environments, platforms and frameworks, as well as cloud application development environments and services.
