The Manager of Assessment Technologies and Support for Student Success reports to and assists the Senior Director for Strategic Planning and Assessment for Student Success. This position will serve as the primary administrator for Starfish, the University's platform for advising, support, and early alert, and will collaborate with stakeholders to streamline training and communications for the system. The position will assist in the development and implementation of assessment processes in Student Success through data organization, reporting and support.
Responsibilities ●Serve as the University lead for software system Starfish (extensive training will be provided) ○Monitor the platform for consistency, develop workflows, and troubleshoot issues with the University IT department and Starfish Support ○Develop and lead training for students, faculty, and staff ○Market the platform to various user groups, and identify opportunities to leverage the system to improve University processes ○Chair the Starfish Advisory Group and assess the platform to improve user experience ○Collaborate with colleges to customize and distribute Starfish communications and surveys ○Collaborate with vendor on updates and enhancements ○Monitor the Starfish Support email address and respond to user inquiries ○Generate and distribute system usage reports upon request
●Compile, organize, and process data for the Department of Strategic Planning and Assessment ○Organize data and create reports in support of department initiatives ○Perform basic data analysis and create basic graphics as needed ○Develop a calendar of regular data needs and submit according to deadlines
●Support the Department of Strategic Planning and Assessment in the development and implementation of assessment initiatives ○Manage timelines and communications for projects as assigned ○Generate progress reports and report on outcomes as needed ○Serves on and supports the Assessment Committee for Student Success ○Manage work study support staff
●Stay current on best practices in higher education, assessment and retention ●Participate in educational opportunities and related professional organizations ●Other duties as assigned
●Bachelor's degree in education, technology, or data/ research-focused field ●Two years experience in a higher education or data-centric position ●Confidence working with technology and data and the ability to problem-solve ●Clear communication skills and the ability to disseminate information through professional documents, presentations, and training ●Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to meet deadlines ●Administrative experience including meeting and project management and calendar/scheduling ●Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite
●Masters degree in higher education, technology, or data/ research-focused field ●Proficiency in Banner, Starfish, or other educational software platforms ●Experience utilizing or building in Tableau, Data Studio, SPSS or data visualization tools
