Under the supervision of the WRITE CENTER Associate Project Scientist, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with administrative and research activities related to the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES) grant. The IES grant is awarded to develop a national center on the research of secondary English students and writing. Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Research in participation in budget, grant, or contract preparation; administer and control grant expenditures; maintain grant personnel records and provide grant personnel services; prepare grant reports and maintain pertinent files and other required records; provide non-laboratory business services such as purchasing, inventory and stores, facilities and space utilization; and provide general clerical as well as secretarial assistant to departmental staff. In addition, the incumbent will also help prepare paper-based and digital materials, communicate with grant partners, create requisitions, process payment requests, onboard individuals, create and maintain participant databases to support research activities, and assists with contract preparation for workshop presenters and school districts, UNEX, and other organizations while supporting the grant activities.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
