Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics Facilities Operations and Capital Projects, the Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Events provides direction to all aspects of facilities and events operations.
Maintain schedule for overall programming and building operations for Dodge Physical Fitness Center including intercollegiate athletics, physical education, recreation, intramurals, club sports, and special events.
Monitor and coordinate all physical building maintenance, project management, and custodial direction with Columbia University Facilities.
Act as the main point of contact for visiting teams, and game officials (where appropriate).
Schedule and direct (where appropriate) University personnel (e.g., Public Safety, Custodial, Mechanical, etc.).
Facilitate operational needs for relevant events, including developing visiting team guides and event checklists, and participating in pre-event operational meetings and post-event debriefing sessions.
Act as secondary coverage, on as needed basis, for all other intercollegiate athletic events and rentals at Dodge Physical Fitness Center, Baker Athletics Complex, and alternate sites
Develop and manage short-term and long-term facility upgrade plans for the Dodge Physical Fitness Center, as directed by the Associate Director of Athletics Facilities Operations and Capital Projects.
Train, schedule, and supervise Athletic Operations student workers and event staff.
Assist in the general management of the Dodge Physical Fitness Center.
Assist in the management of department vans.
Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Ivy League, University, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education Code of Ethics and rules and regulations
Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education and other University divisions and departments
Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education
Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience
Bachelor's Degree and/ or equivalent related experience required.
