We are seeking a Music Teacher or general music specialistto start in January 2020. It is impossible to overstate the impact and importance of a music teacher to our community. At GISB, you will be helping students develop instrumental technique, fine motor skills and memory and offer an avenue for self-expression. The Music Teacher will be responsible for offering music lessons in grades 3-10 and potentially grades 11 and 12, including management of the ensembles and coordination and planning of music instruction offered during the After School Program. Additionally, the Music Teacher will be responsible for planning and executing two school-wide music performances during the year.
The ideal candidate possesses:
2-5 years’ experience in music instruction in grades 3-10
Experience teaching music theory and composition using digital music notation software
Proficiency in conducting, arranging, composing and teaching improvisation skills
A B.M. (Bachelor of Music), B.M.E (Bachelor of Music Education), or a related degree
Resilience, flexibility, curiosity, and a positive attitude
Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
Initiative, independence, and the desire to contribute to a team
Excellent German and English language skills; native German-speaking ability preferred
