The Development Director will join our Joy’s House team to serve our families and community by providing exceptional adult day and caregiver services.
The Joy’s House Development Director will have 7+ years working in nonprofit development and dream of collaborating with our team to strategize our next 20 years of exceptional services. Joy’s House is seeking a Development Director able to actualize their planning through management in order to achieve our goals. The Development Director will be a self-starter, who crafts creative solutions with minimal resources and combines experience with passion and innovation. The Development Director will develop, oversee, and strategize vital revenue streams as well as oversee planning and organization of fundraising activities, manage the development budget, and continue to grow Joy’s House revenue sources.
Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of corporate partners, individual donors, and at times foundations, not only to contribute but to increase giving when able
Research and initiate relationships with prospective funder sources
Improve focus and design of recurring individual and major gifts programs
Plan and organize fundraising aspects of events including Joy of the Journey Breakfasts and annual Gala as well as assist team with stewardship/cultivation activities, including recruiting event attendees
Manage, process, and track corporate sponsorships including the creation of sponsorship proposals, invoice requests, tracking contacts, and developing approach strategies
Maintain and manage development budget
Work cross-departmentally to ensure sponsorship benefits are fulfilled
Oversee the grants pipeline and writing through the supervision of the Development Coordinator
Maintain and steward long-term relationships with existing donors
Make direct, face-to-face solicitations
Work cross-departmentally to recruit, train, and support key volunteers to assist in advancement efforts
Communicate fundraising goals throughout Joy’s House, assign development team with stewardship/cultivation activities and portfolios
Work in conjunction with the Brand Manager and Outreach Coordinator to develop print marketing collateral related to fundraising by actively participating in wording and feel of materials used
Strategize future fundraising programs and oversee implementation
Research and initiate relationships with prospective funder sources including corporate partners, individual donors, and foundations

7+ years of experience in development and fundraising
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising or related field
Flexible, multitasking and strong prioritization skills
Proven track record in cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and maintenance of donors
Strong communication skills, including written/email and spoken/phone with the ability to actively listen to constituents and donors to focus on donor needs and determine mutually beneficial agreements/partnerships
Successful track record of meeting deadlines, project management and creative problem solving
Must be friendly, collaborative and people-oriented
Computer literate (proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Customer Relationship Management software experience is a plus)
