The College offers part-time graduate programs leading to degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Educational Technology, Educational Leadership, Nursing, Social Work and Special Education.
The Instructional Designer reports to the Director of the Instructional Design Center. This individual will be working with faculty to develop the MS Accounting and possibly one other into an entirely online format.
In coordination with ITS and the Instructional Design Center, present interactive workshops on such topics as: course components and structure in Canvas; effective online teaching; effective strategies for student engagement and class management, and assessment. Workshops will be recorded/archived for future Ramapo use.
Design and construct functional Canvas templates for online programs to utilize in their courses, ensuring consistency across programs and a high standard of excellence that will facilitate student engagement and success
Create and implement a schedule to transition the MSAC program and others online
Project manage the inception to final product stages to oversee the creation of all MSAC required online courses. This must include comprehensive review and approval of all finalized courses to insure: 1) online content addresses all material included in the course outline; 2) selected infused technology provides appropriate student learning experiences and assessment opportunities; 3) academic rigor and learning outcomes of the online course are comparable to those of the traditionally delivered course; and 4) the online experience is user-friendly, intuitive, and engaging
Provide small group and/or one-to-one best-practices, guidance, and coaching for faculty teaching online courses in the: design of course content, assets, and assessments; course structure; instructional strategies, and Canvas integrations
Recommend and facilitate best-practices to ensure testing security and validity and all other concerns related to academic integrity and academic standards
Research and provide additional supporting resources and technologies for faculty as needed
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Knowledge of instructional design techniques and strategies
Knowledge of best-practice online learning pedagogy, principles, and techniques
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and evaluate relevant information from various types of source materials
Ability to read and apply laws, rules, or regulations to given situations
Collaborative work style
Experienced Canvas user
Proven track record for producing high-level online learning experiences
