The Office of Strategic Communication is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Creative Coordinator to assist in creating new marketing materials and brand assets that support the University of Iowa mission. The Creative Coordinator will work as part of the creative team to design a wide-range of materials across platforms including recruitment collateral, event materials, videography, social media graphics, and websites. The ideal candidate will have experience in illustration and be highly motivated to further develop their skill set under the leadership of the Art Director. Additional duties to include: Media and Materials Creation ● Create cohesive marketing materials such as recruitment collateral for prospective students, program brochures, event communications, infographics, and website content. ● Create custom illustrations and multimedia animations in order to help achieve institutional marketing objectives. Concept and Brand Identity ● Concept and design assets and marketing materials within the context of the institutional brand, communications, and marketing strategy. ● Collaborate with other members of the Office of Strategic Communication, campus partners, and vendors to maximize creativity and excellence. Project and Production Management ● Monitor and track project progress using OSC's project management tool, Asana. ● Coordinate with printing/outside vendors and consult with customers regarding production options, timeframes, and costs to ensure that all work meets aesthetic expectations, budgets, and deadlines. Financial Responsibility ● Develop and present project options to campus partners within established budgets. ● Strive to improve job function and cut costs by producing products more efficiently. Salary: $41,979.00 to commensurate About the Office of Strategic Communication The Office of Strategic Communication supports the University of Iowa mission by using communication to build awareness and appreciation for the university's people and programs. We provide counsel and produce content that advances the priorities of the university, connects with people emotionally and intellectually, and compels them to act on our behalf.
Qualifications Required Qualifications ● Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. ● 1-3 years of graphic design experience, including page layout design, web design, illustration, photography, and branding. ● Experience translating illustration across mediums, including animation using Adobe After Effects. ● Experience with desktop design and publishing processes on the Macintosh platform and Adobe Creative Suite software, such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. ● A thorough knowledge of best practices and design principles for both print and digital. ● The ability to work with a variety of people and situations. ● Ability to multitask and set priorities to ensure that milestones and deadlines are achieved. ● Fine attention to detail, professionalism, and dependability. ● Ability to take direction, implement feedback, and provide design options. ● General understanding of the prepress and printing process. Desirable Qualifications * Experience with Content Management Systems, such as Drupal. * Experience collaborating with photographers, videographers, clients, and photo subjects to plan and coordinate marketing photo shoots. * Experience working with branding elements and style guidelines.
