Summary: The Epic Cogito Reporting Manager is responsible for the overall success of analytics within the Epic environment and for coordinating analytics tasks across all Epic applications. The Manager has strong communication skills, experience with project management, provides direction and leadership to staff, and ensures analytic projects align with system goals. The manager is a key participant in the organization's analytics strategy, delivering information to the enterprise through analytics and data visualization platforms. The Manager is responsible for the daily operation and staff management of the Cogito Reporting team in support of the Health Care System. Key responsibilities are: manage and coordinate analytics tasks; act as project manager for analytics projects or assist project manager in managing projects; guide and manage staff to coordinate with business users to translate business requirements into analytics, reports and dashboards; assists with the design and development of databases; data governance; and maintain and support analytics applications and tools. The Manager will support, promote and drive implementation of best practices in the areas of business intelligence and analytics. The Manager demonstrates strong leadership skills. The Manager will work with the Director to lead and promote efforts within the department to help standardize work processes and understand departmental capacity, and promote innovation in all aspects of the team's work. The Manager will also ensure that all systems, reports, and dashboards enhance and safeguard proprietary patient, family, and employee confidentiality, data integrity, security, and availability to appropriate staff. Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology required.
- Minimum of 3 years in a management, supervisory or lead position required.
- Epic Clarity Data Model, Epic Cogito Project Manager, Radar, Workbench, and/ or Caboodle Data Warehouse certification(s) a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health Care environment preferred.
- Experience with project management and its methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with business intelligence tools: Microsoft BI stack, SAP Business Objects, Qlikview, Spotfire, Tableau, or Crystal Reports. Experience programming in R, SAS, Python, SQL or equivalent programming languages.
- Experience with Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification and methodology development.
- Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence and database solutions, systems, or products.
- Experience with implementing third-party applications and supporting enterprise applications.
- Experience working closely with vendors, reviewing contracts, and vendor management.
- The ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both a technical and user-friendly language.
- Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required.
- Able to exercise independent judgment and take action.
