The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a Digital Content Specialist. The responsibilities of this position will include the following: Enforce the university’s web style guide, and advocate for the CMS. Serve as a resource for standards, best practices and guidelines around user experience, search engine optimization, data capture and analysis and user testing. Work closely with university’s technical support team to ensure accessibility, functionality and performance of university’s digital platforms, specifically ensuring compliance with sections 504 and 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Offer frontline Adobe AEM CMS support and training to web content editors. Create content for distribution across multiple channels, including websites, marketing collateral and social media. Review, copyedit, approve, and publish digital content. Perform related duties and special projects based on departmental need.
Under general supervision from a designated administrator, coordinate, manage and update content on key areas of the university’s website. This position has day-to-day, operational responsibility for planning and developing web content, managing the university’s selected content management system – Adobe Experience Manager - and acts as the link between the Digital Communications team and individuals who have decentralized responsibility for editing web pages. The Content Specialist works with web content editors to support consistency with the vision and style guide, and direct strategies for keeping content fresh and dynamic.
Bachelor’s degree with one year experience - OR – Associate’s Degree with three years’ experience – OR – seven years’ experience.
Experience must be related to content creation, web content management, social media management, marketing communications or related field.
Proficient in copywriting, web content writing and use of web content management software
Knowledge of best practices for web content management, information architecture, and search engine optimization
Excellent editorial, proofreading, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent project management skills
Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Adobe Creative Suite
