The Proposal Development Coordinator reports to the Manager of the Office of Proposal Development (OPD), focusing on serving Rowan faculty on the main Glassboro campus. OPD is a constituent office of the Division of University Research. The mission of the OPD is to increase the number and quality of competitive, interdisciplinary, and collaborative proposals that support faculty research at Rowan University. This position will work primarily with Rowan University faculty, in addition to the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Technology Commercialization, Office of Research Compliance, and Rowan Innovations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work to identify and disseminate funding opportunities through funding prospect research and faculty consultations.
Document and track potential funding opportunities through regular review of external and internal funding opportunities utilizing available databases, publications, websites, and listserves; present and disseminate those that may be of interest and align with Rowan faculty’s research goals and priorities.
Prepare summary documents that interpret and assess proposal development opportunities for consideration by the Rowan Research leadership.
Contribute to systems that track and report on proposal status, from individual proposals to overall funding portfolios; updating calendars and other resources to track prospective, pending, active, and prior funding sources.
Provide programmatic support to the Manager through faculty outreach on the Glassboro campus.
Serve as chief project point person on developing and managing proposals from conception to submission.
Edit faculty proposals, and liaise with faculty to improve overall proposal quality.
Manage administrative activities in the Office of Proposal Development. Collaborate regularly with OPD leadership to effectively manage the daily activities of the Office. Manage and maintain essential office files.
Collaborate regularly with administrative staff in the Division of University Research, Division of University Advancement, and all other relevant offices..
Prepare special reports and other documents as needed for the Manager.
Assist Manager in the management of the departmental budget.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher (preferably in Public Administration, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management--but not required)
One (1) year of professional experience.
Three (3) years of grantsmanship experience.
