As a branch of Cornell Retail Services, Print Services provides high-quality printing, copying and digital services in a timely and cost-effective manner to support faculty, students and administrators in all their endeavors at Cornell. Their expert staff use a variety of equipment that provide high quality and professional results while delivering legendary service to their customers.
In a fast-paced Printing environment, the Graphics Assistant will balance supporting critical graphic tasks along with supporting administrative tasks that best serve our diverse customer base of students, staff and faculty along with community organizations. This role will assist customers with their specific orders including creating basic graphic designs for banners, business cards, letterhead, or other needs and ensure these orders are printed properly assisting with paper selections, font or binding options among others. Additionally, this role will take in active role in marketing our services at a variety of vendor shows and will assist with question regarding on-line ordering, pricing customer pick-up and billing/checkout.
A successful Graphics Assistant will:
Work efficiently, and prioritize appropriately, in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities and frequent interruptions.
Demonstrate a personable, professional and service-oriented demeanor while contributing positively to a team environment.
Utilize graphics knowledge and organizational skills to ensure efficiency around file readiness
Communicate effective and appropriately with all levels of the organizations with varying levels of graphic designs skills to ensure best product.
Demonstrate proficiency with technology including office online tools.
Associates degree or equivalent education with at least 2 years of relevant experience in an office or Print relatedenvironment or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Proficiency with Adobe products such as Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Additional Education or experience
Knowledge of Printing and Graphics preferred
Working knowledge of Mac operating system
