Job Description Summary
The Center for Public Health Initiatives (CPHI), in collaboration with the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC) of the University of Pennsylvania, seeks a Program Manager (PM) to lead dissemination core initiatives related to public health research and public health activities on campus and in the surrounding community.
The Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for day-to-day management of collaborative projects conducted with stakeholders both internal and external to Penn. The project manager will lead translation, dissemination, and communication activities to move evidence-based strategies into real world clinical, population and public health activities through a variety of communication modalities including peer-reviewed academic journals, social media platforms, e-newsletters, audio journalism, and curricular material, among others.
The PM will develop strategies to elevate the profile of CPHI and APPC as leaders in public health and community engagement across the Penn enterprise (University and Penn Medicine). The PM will identify opportunities to develop novel interdisciplinary partnerships and programs to strengthen public health research and education at Penn. This position will be located at the Annenberg Public Policy Center and supported with supervision from the Annenberg Public Policy Center and the Associate Director of CPHI.
A Masters Degree, preferably in a public health-related field, with 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of developing dissemination strategies, excellent communication skills including writing, marketing, networking, and creating presentations and promotional materials. Experience initiating and managing programs essential. Familiarity with academic publishing formats as well as the capacity to translate academic research for non-academic audiences is key.Â Social media experience desirable.
This is a 3-year term-limited position with an end date of December 31, 2022.
