About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: -
BS Geology, Chemistry, or related field is essential as a foundation for sample planning and data quality control. -
3+ years of demonstrated experience in geology related field. -
A strong interest in geochemistry and mineralogy is desirable. -
A conscientious and detail-oriented approach to work is essential in order to assure high quality analytical data is generated and reliably entered into the database. - Excellent practical communications skills required to effectively implement the geological processes with operational staff.

It will also be beneficial if you have: -
Experience with acQuire software for analytical data management. -
Experience with MS Access and strong skills in Excel. -
Training in sampling methodology, analytical data quality control, and geostatistics. Where you will be working As part of Rio Tinto’s Copper product group; Copper Projects manages the planning, development and technological aspects of major global copper projects. The group collaborates with the Rio Tinto Technology and Innovation group to focus on applications of innovative technologies including block caving, automation, flash converter smelting and sulphide leaching. With exploration indicating one of the largest copper resources ever found in North America, and possibly worldwide; the Resolution Project stands to be a premier copper mine. Located three miles east of Superior, Arizona, the copper ore will be mined using panel caving - a subset of block caving.
