Description of Work:
The Visual Communications Associate will work under the supervision of the College's Director of Communication and External Relations to produce print and multimedia content, including layout/design of the annual annual Arts Magazine, supplemental publication, and other special publications throughout the year. Responsibilities include creating advertisements, brochures and postcards and other printed pieces for recruiting in coordination with the Director of Recruitment. Create and deploy digital content across social and other digital media such as college's website, e-newsletters, and social media including Twitter, and Instagram and Facebook pages is included. Create and maintain compelling print and digital communications content with a consistent graphic identity. Serve as the Hixson-Lied College's Webmaster.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in visual arts/graphic design, communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism, or related field plus 2 years of experience in publication design and production, web design and other digital media such as e-newsletters, and proficiency in executing a social media strategy required. Must demonstrate experience with design of digital content and print materials. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite necessary. Web and CMS design experience essential. Must have excellent communication skills. Strong visual design and layout skills required. Must have strong project management skills. Ability to work independently and in teams necessary.
Three years of professional graphic design and/or web design experience desirable. Strong photography and/or videography skills helpful. Prefer familiarity with UNL's web design system (Drupal). Familiarity with Final Cut editing software desirable. Prefer some published writing experience.
Posted Salary: $45,000 minimum
