Responsible to the Chair and Executive Director of the Department of Family Medicine, the Director of Operational Excellence creates a collaborative mindset in training leaders to organize and lead Lean process improvement efforts to achieve measurable operational efficiencies across the department.
The Director will develop an ongoing Lean curriculum and training program that aims to increase knowledge in principles of Lean terminology, tools/resources, processes, implementation strategies and assessments. Expertise in these areas will integrate into service delivery throughout the organization.
The Director is also responsible for developing and maintaining programs that leverage best practices and improve operational capabilities through standardization, organization, documentation, controls, and stewardship.
The Director is responsible for actively promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. This includes identifying, scheduling, facilitating and leading process improvement initiatives using methods of team building, data gathering, and analysis, problem-solving, project and change management.
The Director will work in alignment with Family Medicine leadership in enhancing the identification, prioritization, design and implementation of process improvement initiatives through, training, mentoring, coaching, and developing a team of Lean Six Sigma leaders.

Master’s Degree required in related business/healthcare field or 10 years’ of medical field experience with Lean Six Sigma Certification or other Lean certification
Lean leader trained/certified required
Experience with Project Management Software/Program
3-5 years project management experience with minimum of 3 years in medical field
