The Systems Analyst will lead implementation of system projects and programs across all areas of Alumni, Annual Giving and Pipeline Development. Reporting to the COO Alumni, the Analyst will independently lead the planning, development and execution of projects, which could be new systems solutions, systems upgrades and/or business process improvements. Working with key stakeholders in the Alumni team, conduct strategic gap analysis and identify needs that can be met with systems solutions.
The incumbent will be responsible for leading the effort to assess the systems roadmap of the team, driving the prioritization of systems assessment and subsequent implementation. After implementation, the Systems Analyst will be the leading the management of the system(s) (e.g., the Career Management tool Handshake) to ensure business needs are being met. Develop training programs and ensure the governance structure is working. Conduct rationalization analysis and retire any systems that do not meet business needs.
The Systems Analyst will also be responsible for strategic program development and Project Management. The incumbent will play a leadership role in establishing systems solutions that assist with the delivery of professional development programs with a key focus on increasing professional preparedness of students and ongoing career advancement of alumni. Ensure that systems tools are integrated throughout alumni engagement efforts and that they work synergistically with current tools and Alumni web properties.
Lead and direct a wide variety of projects and follow through with all levels of staff and individuals inside and outside the organization. Provide strategic and tactical direction in the implementation and success of technological solution for alumni-alumni engagement, and career/professional development programs. Collaborate with partners to coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of new programs and processes. Develop and coordinate policy or program communications and formulate strategies for education and enforcement. Develop communication plan and proactively manage communications with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
Bachelor's Degree in related area; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions and thorough knowledge of related areas of IT.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs. Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture. Broad knowledge relating to software design.
Advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate and correct malfunctions involving technology systems.
Demonstrated experience creating detailed functional specifications for business support tools and technical specifications.
Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users, and dependent/related functions.
Experience in data integration and the specification of data services. Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience of regression test concepts, execution, data and system validation and QA automated test scripts, tools and planning.
Solid testing and test planning skills. Demonstrated experience with difficult beta testing and quality assurance for program/module enhancements and modification to support complex business processes.
In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
Strong project management experience, including managing resources, scope, schedule and budget to ensure technical components of projects are delivered on time, to specification and of high quality. Experience negotiating with vendors and vetting new technology contracts.
Experience with design and development of training programs and materials for business process and specific information systems applications. Ability to coordinate, schedule and deliver training content utilizing different media types. Ability to adapt the training needs of other
