The Web Application Developer will help reimagine content management from the ground up as we adopt new tools and migrate to WordPress. As part of the migration, we are redesigning our toolkit, workflows, and approach to web development. The Web Application Developer will have opportunities to work with modern technologies, and will be a part of a talented team of experienced designers, developers, and a content specialist.
The Web Application Developer collaborates with campus clients and team members to provide solutions for Carleton’s web needs. As a member of the Web Services Group, they will work with a cross-functional team of IT and marketing professionals to respond to client needs and continuously improve the college’s web presence. The Web Application Developer will report directly to the Director of Web Services and will work closely with staff in College Communications and Information Technology Services (ITS).
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) exempt, benefits-eligible staff position.

The successful candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree and has three years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience and has demonstrated experience with WordPress or another open source CMS. Preferred qualifications include experience with open-source software development and responsive web design, project management methodologies, and course management systems such as Moodle.
