This position is in the Department of Surgery Business Services Organization. The position is located at the Mid Campus Center. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Content writer to develop blog posts, newsletters, web copy and marketing materials. A strong storyteller with a keen eye for detail. Will develop content to support communications on behalf of the Department’s individual divisions and areas. This position requires a high level of creativity, as well as the ability to use data-driven insights to write better industry-related material.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Long forum writing such as blog posts, newsletters, annual reports, etc.
Short forum copy for marketing materials and internal documents.
Editing department communications content pieces including social media posts, web copy, and branded content.
Studies specifications and prototypes of software, operating procedures, sequence and operating detail.
Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards and department guidelines.
Reviews materials and recommends revisions or changes.
Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
Lays out material for publication.
Assists with selection of illustration material.
Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in technical writing or related field.
1-2 years of experience in computer systems and applications preferred.
Experienced technical writing, assembling, and editing communication materials in the medical or higher education sector.
Proven writing skills in digital content and ability to contribute and collaborate within a team.
Ability to write for different target audiences.
Up to speed on the latest copy best practices across digital marketing channels.
The hiring range for this position is $39,894 - $50,898 annually.
