Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Edit/Media Specialist I for Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. This position designs and oversees the production of a wide range of multimedia communication materials that promote internal and external awareness and understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. The Edit/ Media Specialist I is the primary expert in multimedia engagement and content development in areas of graphic design, video production, web development, and photography.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Produces content that will strategically advance efforts to nurture and cultivate diversity and inclusion as key institutional values.
Drives individual campus resources, program, and initiatives that promote an inclusive campus climate through comprehensive digital engagement.
Assists in the development of a communications strategy that integrates traditional, digital, visual, and emerging media to support campus-wide communication efforts on diversity and marketing campaigns to communicate core values to the Rutgers community.
Assists in convening and coordinating a marketing committee within the division as well as developing a student marketing working group.
Supervises up to five undergraduate student interns, including freelance photographers.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of highly-relevant experience in communication, marketing, and design environment.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience is required.

Ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities with the ability to work under pressure.
Ability to interact with high-level administrators and have prior administrative experience within a college/university setting.

Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations, including work with a variety of units and departments to meet area mission.
Ability to multi-task, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud.
High level of proficiency and knowledge in the use of production printers, content management systems such as Drupal, and social media management tools.
Preference for those who have at least one year of experience working in a fast-paced, high visibility executive office overseeing the implementation of campus level initiatives and providing executive support.
Experience working in higher education is preferred.
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of administrative experience, preferably with some experience in higher education or a non-profit organization, and at least one year of experience managing projects to implementation and providing executive support. Ability to work independently with little guidance.

Must be able to work nights and weekends.
