The Business Analyst is a technically competent generalist, with experience in business analysis within an application development environment. The successful candidate will be flexible, innovative, creative, curious, and analytical. The Business Analyst will take on several roles, so this job is ideal for a person having a broad skill set.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document requirements for assigned projects
Develop/update business processes and templates
Develop functional workflows and other process workflows as needed
Work with all departments involved in client implementations and upgrades to ensure custom development, and core-product development is completed per the documented requirements
Review with training department workflows and customizations to ensure training and training material is tailored to the end-user
Evaluate and apply information harvested through surveys and workshops, task analysis, and business process descriptions
Be an interface and a go-between for technology teams, support teams, and business units for assigned projects
Work with quality assurance and development team members to ensure test plans and project outcomes meet requirements and acceptance criteria
Participate in client/AM weekly conference calls to gather input on how applications are being used, challenges that arise and opportunities to propose new ideas for development
Experience collecting, managing and implementing business requirements and translating them into specific software requirements
Experience creating a prototype or a model of a proposed solution using mock ups, wireframes, storyboards or an application such as appery.io
Ability to follow a project methodology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams; able to communicate with people at all skill and knowledge levels; able to translate technical concepts into plain English
Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-growth environment
Understanding both technical designs and specifications
Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications and Project Management tools.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline 3+ years hands-on experience in an application development environment and a track record as a successful Business Analyst
- Experience in multiple SDLC environments, especially Scrum
- CBAP - Certified Business Analysis Professional preferred
Hands-on experience in three or more of the following skill-sets: - Application development - Architecture and systems design - Business case, business value, and ROI analysis - Facilitation and requirements elicitation - Managing projects as a project coordinator or project manager - QA planning and testing - Supporting business users in multiple departments such as Finance, HR, Security, Legal, and so on
