This position services the Rockwell Automation University (RAU) organization. RAU is responsible for the technical competency of a wide variety of Rockwell Automation resources and partners, including: Customer Support & Maintenance (CSM), Systems and Solutions Business (SSB), Technical Sales Domain Experts customers, system integrators, channel partners, and more. The primary responsibility of the Learning Consultant is to design the future of competency for Rockwell's customers and technical employees. The Learning Consultant will apply sound instructional design practices to build competency roadmaps; this includes evaluating existing programs to determine effectiveness, and propose new/updated solutions. These solutions will support a wide range of learning modalities (eLearning, instructor-led, videos, distance learning, etc.). Although content development is not a primary function, there will be occasional needs/opportunities to do so. Additionally, the Learning Consultant will collaborate cross-organizationally and globally in an effort to streamline competency efforts within Rockwell as a whole; this may include interfacing with leadership, other learning consultants, subject matter experts, instructors, and content developers. The position requires minimal travel, typically less than 10%. The Learning consultant will demonstrate strong project management discipline to develop and manage course development timelines and resources. Providing regular updates to all key stakeholders. Principal duties include, with minimal input/guidance: - Plan competency programs following the appropriate training methodology for the target audience.
- Serve as a mentor and leader
- Foster a collaborative environment with other learning organizations/personnel within Rockwell to share best practices, identify areas of shared interest/effort.
- Take advantage of professional development opportunities in order to stay current on competency best practices, trends, etc. This includes conferences, professional societies, networking, etc.
- Demonstrably add value to the RAU organization. This may assume a variety of forms - increased revenue, increased offerings, and higher customer/student satisfaction are some possibilities.
- Perform supporting functions/tasks as assigned by manager.
