Territory Sales Manager (1902854) - New York, New Jersey and Western Pennsylvania Territory
The candidate primary responsibility is to develop new business for the performance flooring product offering through an existing and potential customer base and lead the development of customer relationships at all levels. Your goal is to "Own a Facility" and provide solutions within the Commercial & Industrial Flooring portfolio that meet and exceed the Client's needs and expectations. Perform all necessary sales and marketing activities for targeted segments involving core product growth in such a manner as to facilitate project-oriented sales.
Grow performance flooring segment product sales through "solution packages".
Develop and maintain a high value business relationship with Clients, building owners, facility managers, contractors, distributors and design firms.
Focus on profitable growth in key performance flooring market sectors - Food & Beverage Industrial (Manufacturing/Processing), Heavy Industrial (+Waste/Recycling) (High Valued Solutions) and Lab/Research (+Growers).
Vision - Target and secure significant Clients and their projects to maximize market share in assigned territory.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
A minimum of five years of experience with the sale of specialty construction materials sales and/or experience as a contractor/applicator of commercial/industrial flooring with a proven track record of performance.
Bachelor of Arts/Science preferred in business, architecture, engineering or a related field. Minimum high school graduation with commensurate industry-related work experience.
Bilingual preferred (French & English), speaking and writing
Demonstrates a robust understanding of how construction products are sold into the targeted segment through the various channels of sale. Channel of sales include but are focused on Architects, Specifiers, Distributors, Owners and Contractors.
Superior time management skills and ability to excel in a self-directed work environment.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) presentation and customer interface skills
Experience and training in consultative selling skills.
Strong understanding of how to work through multi-level selling and managing a project sales cycle as it involves different customer interactions.
Ability to travel up to 50%. Driving long distances and overnight travel are required. Will work out of home office.
Strong skills in work-product organization, action plan development, time management, project management, meeting facilitation, relationship building (networking, team building and conflict resolution) and public speaking/presentations.
