Chief Physicist, Metropolitan Memphis Market, Memphis, TN Baptist Memorial Health Care, one of the largest and most prestigious health care systems in the country, has a new and unique opportunity for a Chief Physicist at the Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis campus, a 706 bed tertiary care hospital. The Chief Physicist will provide direct supervision for the outpatient center’s medical physicist and dosimetrists, conduct all aspects of the radiation therapy physics program, equipment calibration and commissioning, maintaining of appropriate quality assurance for equipment and treatment delivery, compliance with radiation safety, licensing issues and other pertinent regulatory requirements and will report to the BMH, Memphis Director of Radiation Oncology for clinical activities operationally associated with the hospital’s outpatient radiation oncology center. In addition, the Chief Physicist will also devote a portion of his/her time performing administrative functions across the metro Memphis market working in close coordination with the System Oncology Administrator and System Radiation Oncology Medical Director. Duties include, but are not be limited to, oversight of the metro medical physics and dosimetry teams, and other key stakeholders to integrate and standardize radiation oncology services and capabilities within the Metro Memphis locations. Accountabilities include general oversight for other physicists and dosimetrists working in other Metro Baptist entities, developing an overall staffing plan to optimize the use of all physicists/dosimetrists within the market area, enhancing the orientation, training, and competencies for the metro physicists/dosimetrists teams, developing a QA/Peer Review program for the metro area in collaboration with our academic partner, assisting with oversight of the radiation therapy curriculum for the Radiology GME program, and providing Radiation Safety Officer coverage, as needed. |
